The Joy Luck Club, a story about the conflicts between Chinese mothers and Americanized daughters, is Amy Tan’ s first novel. In the novel, the author mainly represents the relationship between four mothers and their daughters among so many cultural conflicts. The daughters fall into a bicultural dilemma and identity crisis which making the mothers and daughters be in a loss and bring the conflicts between them due to the duality of Chinese immigrants. Though cultural conflicts and combination existed in The Joy Luck Club, this paper demonstrates that we should keep a balance among different cultures in the age of globalization and should take a right attitude towards cultural conflicts and identity crisis.
