Being regarded as one of the most famouspoets in Tang Dynasty, Li Bai composed a large number of classical poemsthroughout his life. These poems have been translated into English since the 18th century, and nowadays so many different versions can be found. And among thefactors which result in different translation versions, translator's subjectivityis often ignored by researchers. In this paper, the author studies translators’subjectivity in the English translations of Li Bai’s poems through comparingtwo different versions translated by Tang Yihe and Xu YuanChong respectively. Withthe comparison and analysis of different translation strategies and methods,the paper sheds more light on the impact of translators’ subjectivity on thecross-cultural and cross-lingual communication of Chinese classics.
