Poeticimages are artifacts that depict visual perception which presents an intellectual and emotional complex in an instant of time and are representations of sensations perceived through the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste.This paper aims to make a comparative analysis of positive death image and negative death image, as well as their interactive processes and different reflections of the poets’ spiritual world in Chinese and Western poetry by selecting typical examples. Human beings are but sojourners in this world, after the journey of this life, continue the journey of souls. The analysis of poetic images of death enables the readers to learn the significance and mission of life.
