Whatcomes with the worldwide globalization is the more and more important role thatEnglish language plays as the universal language, so the acquisition of English language becomes extremely necessaryall over the world. GrammarTranslation Method, with a longhistory of thousands of years, is widely used in non-English speaking countriesto teach English, for its wide acceptability and high productiveness. Itrequires teachers to use learners’ mother language to teach the targetedlanguage and focus on the grammar teaching. However, with the development of pedagogical methods and the newrequirements from the learners, Grammar Translation Method has been regarded asout of date and replaced by some new ways. This paper will focus on theapplication of this method in college English teaching and its unique functionthrough the data collected by the designed questionnaire. Besides, it will putforward some possible and practicable improvements on it to better meet the newdemands.

2.Collect data and materials for the dissertation and write the paper onschedule.

3. The paper should give an elaborate andexhaustive research on the given topic with independent work.
