In addition, closely combined with economic practices, financial news nowadays can be witnessed in extensive areas, including manufacturing, consumption, agriculture, service sectors, and so on.Therefore, financial news and its translation have been endowed with crucial importance.
As animportant academic field in comparative literature, medio-translatology puts particular emphasis on the influence of culturaldiversity over translation.“Medio-translatology” is a blend of “Mediology” and “Translatology”. With Chinese culture gradually going globally, ithas become a theoretical guidance in translation circle. As two news media accessible to differenttargetaudiences,Financial timesand China Dailyhave utilized distinctive translation strategies, making thesetwoauthoritativenewspaperssuitable for case studies on translation strategies of financial news. Fromthe perspective of Medio-translatology, this paperanalyzes the translation strategies used in the two news media, namelyforeignization, domestication, and their subfields， theaim ofwhich is to realize the obtainment of symmetric information in two or more cultural backgrounds.
