With the popularity of mobile phones and the advent of the new media age, new media software represented by WeChat is increasingly becoming an indispensable means to obtain information in people's life. As an important part of new media news, soft news, with its incomparable unique advantages, is playing an active role in cross-cultural communication.
This paper，from the perspective of Skopos Theory, takesthe translation of soft news of the Bilingual Newsof China Daily’ s WeChat public account as an example, summarizesthelinguistic features of soft news.On this basis, news translation techniques in the specific context of new media are proposed with the analysis of illustrative examples in order to provide some reference for translation research in this field.
