The United Kingdom is one of the earliest countries in which feminism came into being and developed, so the feminist thought in British culture is worth studying. In the 1970s, with the inseparable transfusion of oriental civilization, the radical feminist movement evolved into a more harmonious feminist stage, pioneered by postmodern feminism. In view of the ecological and environmental problems, ecofeminism came into being, whose main views have something in common with the views of "the unity of man and nature" and "the unity of Yin and Yang" in Chinese Confucianism and Taoism.On the basis of ecofeminism and Confucianism and Taoism, this essay will analyze from the intercultural perspective how the British Period Drama Series Downton Abbey embodies the feminism developed from mutual learning between Chinese and western civilizations, and proposes how Chinese works absorb the positive elements of western civilization to achieve cultural confidence and awareness or infusion.
