AP and A Woman on a Roof, two masterpieces of two writers from twocountries who lay down their hands upon a same ground——the growth of a youth. Upon their publications, researches domestic andabroad are made to hold the discussion on respective novels, but few of themever put them together as for a comparative analysis. Therefore this paper takesthe major concern on their similarities and differences, and particularly toidentify in-depth the two authors’ own focus on social reality as well as theyouth’s experiences in hope of arriving an indication on some motivations andthoughts.
