Stylistics, a branch of applied linguistics, is the study and interpretation of texts and spoken language in regard to their linguistic and tonal style, where style is the particular variety of language used by different individuals in different situations. As a discipline, stylistics links literary criticism to linguistics. It does not function as an autonomous domain on its own, and it can be applied totheunderstanding of literary works. There is a close correlation in the study of literature between stylistic devices and the construction and development of conversations. Therefore, how to understand the application of stylistic devices toliterature has undoubtedly become an essential approach to better understand the significance of conversations of literary worksand further comprehend literary works.

Based on the perspective of stylistics,this paper will explore how stylistics influences the comprehension of Pride and Prejudiceand the reader’s understanding of the novel’scharacters and motif.
