1. 毕业设计（论文）主要内容：
Robert Bly’s masterpiece, The Light Around the Body, in which the Vietnam War and the Iraq war are the principal subject matters, won the National Book Award in 1968. Bly strongly devaluesAmerican intrusion and has become the iconic figure of the anti-war. In terms of poetic aesthetics, he advocatesthat political poetry should primarily have literary features rather thanpolitical slogans or media reports. Like other poemshe has written, his political poemsdelve into the inner world of the entire nationality and reflect the deep consciousness of people.
In his political poetry, natural images often generate strong contrasts with the other images. Occasionally these contrasts evoke emotional and anestheticdiscomfort, activating readers’ consciousness and unconsciousness of theirdetestingcruelty, massacre, and spiritual devastation brought about by the war. Moreover, Bly extendsthese images as metaphors for the common ideal interred in the national spiritualworld and therefore awakensthe public from the fanaticism of the war and calls on everyone to resist the war.
This paperwill introduce Robert Bly and his theory of poetry including his views on political poetry, and specifically, explore natural images appearing in his poetry and their functions in both theme and style.
