The concept of number has a long history as a part of human language system. Yuval Noah Harari once pointed out in his book Sapiens: A brief history of humankind that after as a new type of information, number played an indelible role in the generation of language and the establishment of empires. So far, the magic of the numbers themselves has gone without saying, but number interpreting is still an energy-sapping activity for human being. Gile's effort model suggests that a person's brain power is limited, and numbers have the characteristics of high information entropy and low relevance. Therefore, it is necessary for interpreters to allocate limited energy scientifically and efficiently so as to present high-quality translations.

This article embarks from the Gile’s effort model, through the analysis of numerical digit system, digital unit, digital symbols and other characteristics, discuss the numbersinterpretation problems and reasons in classroom teaching, combining the theory of pedagogic psychology theory of memory and attention, focus on providing new methods of material selecting, note-taking and oral practicing and offer a new perspective for interaction between teachers and the students in numbers interpreting class, enhance the level of college students numbers interpreting test capabilities and overall translation capabilities.
