As an important symbol of a society, a region or a city,urban linguistic landscape, not only shows its social and culturalcontext, but also reflects its civilization development. Wuhan, as the corecity of the Yangtze river economic belt, has been accelerating its constructioninto a national central city supported by four aspects—being the nationaleconomic center, the high-level scientific and technological innovation center,the trade and logistics center and the international exchange center. Thestandardized and civilized bilingual linguistic landscape is a window ofinternationalization, which is conducive to displaying the city, and improvingthe image of city, thus speeding up the pace of internationalization. Locatedin Wuhan, Hubei province, the East Lake Scenic Area is a national 5A tourist scenic spot, a national model site of civilized scenicspots and one of the first national key scenic spots. It receives millions oftourists from home and abroad every year and is the largest scenic spot incentral China. Undoubtedly, East Lake Scenic Area is a "card" ofWuhan, and the bilingual signs in it play a pivotal role in shaping the imageof the city.
Thus, based on thecase study of the C-E translation of public signs in the East Lake Scenic Area,this paper mainly sums up the translation strategies of the urban linguisticlandscape, and points out the problems of non-standard English translation inbilingual linguistic landscape, in order to build standard, civilized, healthy,harmonious, ecological language environment of the city and improve the levelof urban internationalization, hence, beneficial to Wuhan’s construction into anational central city.

1. Searchvarious resources to identify the topic for the dissertation.
2. Collect andanalyze bilingual public signs in the East Lake Scenic Area as well as othermaterials for the dissertation and write the paper on schedule.
3. The paper should give an elaborate andexhaustive research on the given topic with independent work under the guidanceof the instructor.
