Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May are the only two female conservative Prime Ministers in British history. Based on the three elements of Aristotle's rhetoric and its application in political speech and political rhetoric, this paper makes a comparative study of Thatcher's and Theresa May's resignation speeches. Through the analysis of language organization, words and sentences, discourse, rhetoric, and language application effect, this paper explores the personality charm and speech strategies embodied in the two women prime ministers' resignation speeches.
