In recent years, the issue of environmental protection has been a hot topic among public. A Swedish girl becomes known to a wider public and the media with her radical environmental protection proposals. Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize at the age of 16, Greta Thunberg must have her unique speech skills which are worth exploring.
Based on Aristotle's rhetorical theory, taking Greta Thunberg's speeches at TED and the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York as the research objects, this paper makes a contrastive study of the persuasive strategies of Thunberg's speeches in the aspects of intralinguistic and extralinguistic factors.
