It is the food culture that shapes Chinese people to a certain degree,distinguishing us from all the other peoples around the world. Among Chinese cuisines, those from the north also have their unique characteristics, with distinctive tastes and intense flavors, which also correspond to the climate and people there. Although the research on translations of Chinese dishes names has made some progress , the work on Northern ones is still far from satisfying. By studying the methods used in the translation of Shandong, Northeastern and Beijing dish names, I would like to provide some practical and effective suggestions to the work concerning this aspect supported by reliable theories, endeavoring to promote Chinese food culture in general.

1. Searchvariousresources to identify the topic for the dissertation.

2. Collect data and materials forthe dissertation and write the paper on schedule.

3. The paper should give an elaborate and exhaustive research on the given topic with independent work.
